Booms, Busts, and Burgers – Downtown and Capitol Hill Neighborhoods (2.5 to 3 hours)

Standing on the steps of the Colorado State Capitol Building, you may look towards the west and think about the beauty and peacefulness the Rocky Mountains inspire. You may look around the city and marvel at the vast expanse that the Queen City of the Plains has come to be. But you probably won’t think of all the people that rose to the top and fell to the bottom as part of the process of building up Denver. This is where we come in. On the Booms, Busts, and Burgers™ – Downtown and Capitol Hill Neighborhoods tour you’ll hear all about the people and stories that made Denver the great city it is today. You’ll learn about the good, the bad, and the ugly of Denver’s past!

After getting a crash course in the foundation of Denver and Colorado, we’ll move through the Capitol Hill neighborhood and discuss how one of the richest areas in town ended up on the edge of the “wickedest street in America” to then turn around and become one of the hottest areas for current Denverites to live, work, and play in. From there, we’ll move into the civic center area and uncover the inspirations, the firsts, and the scandals that shaped the civic center. After stopping by the Mint, we’ll cross into the downtown area and the central business district. There we’ll visit a favorite hotel of many presidents and cowboys alike.

We’ll end the tour on the famous 16th Street Mall in the heart of Downtown Denver. With hundreds of shops and restaurants you’ll have plenty of places nearby to reflect on the massive amounts of information you just took in. You’ll try to think about your favorite story but then realize that you have too many to pick just one. Start expanding your knowledge of Denver by booking now!
